Techrider has listed some pros and cons noticed with Siteground website and extensive research about the service: we especially love that Siteground provides tons of extra features that are perfect for both beginners and long time users.

Siteground services

1.Good Performance:99.99% Uptime in Last 24 Months

All of the data presented in this review is based on at least 24 months of actual statistics and raw data. Pulled online and from interactions with the service. SiteGround’s rating on uptime performance has been nearly perfect over the 24-months period averaging at 99.99% this puts them among the most reliable website hosting services available out there.

Uptime like this keeps your website realizable in the eyes of visitors and this keeps them happy. Also, your site is almost guaranteed to be working around 24hrs every day so you hardly lose any business from customers not being able to access your site when they want to make purchases.

2. Above-Average Load Time (673ms)

Easily the speed of one’s website can be a critical factor when it comes to how many people stay on your site, people are not as patient as they used to be so you must consider this when choosing a host.

Here is a fun fact Techrider thinks you should keep in mind, Google has reported that 53% of people who use the internet will leave your page if it doesn’t load within the first three seconds
of visiting. This you would agree has a huge impact on on-page conversion rates.

Furthermore, you can’t really help your page speed if you have a slow host. Compressing images to lighten their weight, Loading them through a CDN to take the pressure off your server, all this can’t help a slow server.

Fortunately, SiteGround offers a word-class service and does not have this problem. They have the above-average loading time of 673ms although this isn’t the fastest we’ve seen, it does place SiteGround near the top 10 when it comes to speed.

3. Good Customer Support Experience (2017-2020)

For every time we have tried to connect with the Sitegrounds customer service, the process has been seamless and easily addressed our grievances over the time the consonant has been researched for.

There is a FAQ section where answers have been provided to give a knowledge base where customers can find their own quick answers. Else there is also a phone call option as well a 24/7 live chat.

4. Free SSL Certificate and Content Delivery Network (CDN)

SSL is what protects information sent back and forth between the user device and a given website. Information that is shared during this interaction might include personal details like IP addresses and credit card numbers. If not secured, hackers and authorities could easily intercept this information.

Recently Google Chrome started actively warning people if the URL they have entered doesn’t have an SSL certificate set up. If the best web browser as seen today is looking out for websites like this you should know it is in the users’ best interest. Basically, the fact that SiteGround throws these in for free on all plans is a confirmation of their dedication to providing good service.

Another good news comes in the form of a free Cloudflare CDN (Content Delivery Network). This service stores large files on Siteground servers located in different parts of the globe. The distribution of servers is to ensure files are stored as close as possible to site visitors, so they can be accessed faster.

5. Beginner-to-Advanced Features Available

SiteGround website is full of features targeting every level of the user on the net, you can say they have a little something for everyone.

Website builders like Weebly can be installed in just a few clicks, a feature that favors beginners and bloggers. Weebly allows a simple drag-and-drop editing so you don’t have to result in coding to take full control over the look and feel of your website.

It also has other deep integrations which favor easier website making and each app can be installed easily without enlisting the help of a developer some of these other tools are WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal.

However, It also has features that help developers. They get pre-installed Git on bigger plans, along with SSH, WP-CLI, SFTP, and phpMyAdmin. PHP versions at your disposal are multiple. Also multi-level caching is available. And you can also get access to staging environments to test new features before pushing them into production.

SiteGround also has a good system that helps out with security, using a proprietary, AI-bot prevention tool that sniffs out new attacks before they hit.

Good Customer Support

Near perfect uptime and a guarantee of free service if uptime dips below 99.99%, and Great load speed are all features offered by Siteground. The quality of these services put them up there as one of the most reliable for both beginners and advanced users.

However, Techrider has briefly outlined some drawbacks we also noticed and think you should consider before you sign up.

1. Higher Renewal Rates

SiteGround has its cheapest plan for start-up slated as low as $3.95/month. But this is just a trick to lure you in and once they have your attention which is why they give out low introductory rates, they double (or even triple) the fee when it’s time for you to renew.

2. $14.95 “Setup Fee” for Monthly Billing

SiteGround allows you the ease of starting up with a little cash and registering for a short period at startup even if it’s for one month. A trait that is not seen among many web hosting outfits who try to get you to sign up for at least 6 months or a year at startup. The downside is they charge a “Setup Fee” for these plans.

Good Performance

3. Limited “Cheap” Plan

Features on the cheap plan are limited as compared to other plans and web hosting companies. The amount of resources made available to you on this plan isn’t good enough so eventually you will have to upgrade your plan.

4. No Free Domain Name

Some web hosts throw ‘freebies’ at new visitors in a bid to turn them into customers, SiteGround, unfortunately, doesn’t do that.

In conclusion, Siteground is having reasons why it has been able to stand out till date and increased its number of users:

● solid uptime delivery and somewhat turned into a guarantee that you will probably never have major downtime issues.
● Their site speed is pretty good, too.
● Pricing is good if you can take advantage of long term plans.

  1. Thanks for this review. I’ve heard really good things about SiteGround and was considering moving once my current hosting plan expires. However, none of the other reviews I’ve read listed increased costs as a con so this has made me alert and aware that I need to do more research. I do, however, really love their supposed load times.
