We can already see a lot of people tightening their belts on finances and there’s no telling what other aspects of our lives this outbreak will have an effect on. EFFECTS OF COVID-19 ON THE BUSINESS
A reduction in the want to purchase or buying power due to the loss of numerous jobs is bound to have an effect on sales for new technology but that has not seemed to deter technology companies from innovating, a host of them have announced new releases In hopes to make sales and a profit on design.
Announcements started in earnest in late April. The first one was Apple’s letting us know that the iPhone model SE for 2020 also known as the iPhone SE 2, the second generation of the iPhone SE, and the announcements continued well into the summer.
OPTIMISTIC MANUFACTURERS AND THEIR PRODUCTS
Companies like iPhone and Samsung are plotting to get us to spend money on new pieces of technology but we have our hands crossed waiting to see how well that works out. Techrider looks to introduce the features of all these new phones and help readers see if they can or will take their funds during a time like this.
1. SAMSUNG GALAXY FOLD 2
Samsung has always felt strongly about one foldable, they have always been of the opinion that foldable gadgets are going to see a large increase in sales with time and will be the future of mobile devices. It has invested resources in making foldable displays for years before unveiling its Galaxy Fold in February 2019. Samsung’s device, which doubles as a phone and a tablet, caught the world’s attention, but it quickly ran into troubles.
Samsung delayed the launch of the $1,980 priced piece of technology by five months from April to September as it was discovered to have screen defects by some reporters in their review units. So this year, Samsung is expected to launch a model that carries all the lessons learnt from February’s galaxy z flip.
A model called the galaxy to fold 2.details about when the Fold could launch haven’t been made available to us, but rumours suggest the phone will be released as early as the second quarter. We expect to see updates to the Fold which could include a glass display instead of plastic as well as a bigger internal screen. Some rumors have even suggested that it will come with an S Pen stylus. It is possible the coronavirus pandemic still affects the launch. So we will tag this with an expected release date of September 2020.
2. HUAWEI P40 SERIES
The Huawei‘s P40 series has about three phones that fall under its category they include the standard P40 and the P40 Pro but it’s stand out member, the P40 Pro Plus, is what has us most excited. It’s going to be the first phone with a 10x optical zoom lens, it has promised nothing short of awesomeness and should deliver well in low-light photography. Expected to be a bezel-free design, this phone is due to go on sale in June, but won’t come to the US market due to ongoing political difficulties. It’s out on sale now in many European countries.
3. SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 2
This is Samsung‘s annual flagship bearing phone for power users and its fate in 2020 is up in the air. As it has done repeatedly with previous versions we’d expect the new Note to arrive in August, but that seems wholly unlikely from point of view as the world doubles down to manage this coronavirus pandemic. Samsungs usual fashion in these releases is an elaborate event but this year it’s possible that Samsung could host an online event instead, just like rivals instead of the usual stadium or music hall venue. We would just have to wait and see.
What is likely is that Note 20 will be building on the Galaxy S20’s key features, 5G data speeds, a fast 120Hz screen refresh rate, and the high-resolution cameras with more details for us to find out about during the expected unveiling. We expect this phone in August 2020.
4. XIAOMI MI10, MI 10 PRO
Xiaomi has taken the wraps off its latest flagship phone technology and they are called the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. They were unveiled into the Chinese market online in an event held on Feb. 13 and an international launch quickly followed on March 27.
Both phones support an impressive 108-megapixel camera sensor which was co-developed by Samsung and appeared first on the Mi 10 Note.
The phones are also expected to come packed with top-shelf specs, some of which include:
● A Snapdragon 865 chipset,
● display of 90hz
● the battery life of 4500 mah
● 30-watt wireless charging.
Xiaomi has said it’ll release the phones in European countries in April but mentioned nothing about a US release. Prices In Europe start at 799 euros for the MI 10 with the 10 Pro starting at 999 euros.
5. SAMSUNG GALAXY A SERIES
With the way, the year has shipped out to be there is no phone network that wouldn’t consider a budget phone and Samsung is going all-in on one with its new Galaxy A-Series lineup. When we say “budget,” we mean cheap but we hope it packs a bit if not a lot of good functionality as well to draw interest.
Well this series has a 4G LTE lineup, includes four phone tech models which consist of the Galaxy A10 costing about $110, Galaxy A11 for $180, Galaxy A21for $259 and the $400 worth Galaxy A51, a followup to the earlier released Galaxy A50. Then we have the two 5G models namely, the 5G version of the Galaxy A51 which will cost at least $500, and the new Galaxy A71 5G coming in at $600.
In Techriders opinion, these are still stiff prices from Samsung and I guess we have no choice but to wait and see if the series will be well worth every penny.
6. GOOGLE PIXEL 4A and 4A XL
In 2019 Google released budget versions of its Pixel phones, the Pixel 3A and 3A XL designed to cater for the needs of middle-income earners, the devices turned out a huge success for the company, it is only natural to expect the follow-ups to that kind of acceptance but that will definitely not be the case considering the way the year has gone. Rumors have carried prices to be at $399 starting for the Pixel 4A and headphone jacks while the price goes higher for the 4AXL, also said that it will have a new front-facing hole-punch camera.
7. IPHONE SE 2020
This was announced by apple inc. In April and as the release date slated for the fourth quarter of the year, we have given a full description of the iPhone SE 2020 in an earlier written article. It is a budget phone and is well lined up for its year of release considering.
8. APPLE FLAGSHIP RELEASE
There are rumors all over about a flagship phone to be released by Apple year even though we have not been told it by the cooperation Techrider believes it is due to the fact that the suppliers in China are shut down or operating on limited capacity because of the COVID-19 outbreak, which may impact stock due for release in September when new iPhones are typically launched.
A host of other companies have teased at the release of a phone as well, especially budget ones and Techrider believes it is a strategy especially for this year 2020 where finances of lots of people have suffered serious setbacks.
